Funding
We are pleased to offer funds to MN-LHS fellows for research project discretionary support. Please use the form below to request supplemental funding to support the incorporation of Learning Health System (LHS) competencies into your fellowship project or independent learning initiative.
Proposals will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. In general, we do not anticipate funding requests that exceed $1,000 per fellow per year except under special circumstances. Please provide details about your project, funding request, and a brief justification for how funds will be used to support the inclusion of LHS competencies in your project.
While all requests will be reviewed and considered, here is general guidance on what would and would not be considered an appropriate use of funds:
Included:
- Software licenses: Tools necessary for data analysis or simulation relevant to LHS work (e.g., Nvivo, Tableau)
- Conference registration: For presenting work directly related to the MN-LHS fellowship
- Travel and accommodations: For presenting work directly related to the MN-LHS fellowship
- Publication costs: For publishing work directly related to the MN-LHS fellowship
- Training and workshops: Costs for courses or certifications that focus on LHS competencies and will be incorporated into your MN-LHS fellowship project or learning initiative
- Project-specific tools and support: Equipment, such as data collection tools, necessary for LHS-related activities or participant incentives
Not Included:
- Licensure fees: Any costs related to maintaining or obtaining professional licensure
- Personal technology: Computers, tablets, or smartphones not directly tied to a specific LHS-project
- Conference registration: For attendance only, not presenting work directly related to the MN-LHS fellowship
- Publication costs: For publishing work not directly related to the MN-LHS fellowship
- Salaries or stipends: Requests for personal or staff/employee compensation
A fellow who has completed the program may request funding for presentation of work directly pertaining to the MN-LHS program, up to one year after program completion. The travel must occur within two years of program completion. If the fellow emeritus previously requested and received funding for another request, additional justification will need to be provided as to why funding from MN-LHS is needed/warranted. All requests are subject to review and approval is not guaranteed.
